I'm an academic librarian: I work for the University of York in the UK. I look after Arts & Humanities subjects. I absolutely love it. I write and speak about library marketing and advocacy, as well as other areas of librarianship such as the New Professionals movement, and emerging technologies. In particular, along with Laura Woods I've done a lot of stuff around marketing libraries beyond the echo chamber - a key concept for getting our voices heard outside the profession.
Should you wish to, you can see details and materials from all my previous presentations, here, and you can see details (and in many cases download PDFs) of all my previous publications, here. Both of those links are to pages on my own website, thewikiman.org, which is distinct from this site.
This site is all about marketing libraries, and supports the book. It contains materials that I couldn't fit into the book, and new stuff that has come up since it was written. This includes case studies, which will be added to the site on an on-going basis.
Please send me an email if you have any questions, would like to submit a case-study, or would like me to speak or run a workshop at an event.
